Cookie notice
Some things have to be stored on your device for the site to work at all. Everything else waits for you to agree. This page says which is which.
1. The rule we are working to
Storing anything on your device, or reading anything back off it, needs your agreement first. There is one exception in the rules and it is narrow: things that are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. Analytics is not strictly necessary, however useful we find it, so it waits.
In practice that means nothing in the optional section below loads until you have agreed to it. Not loaded and then ignored: not loaded.
2. Strictly necessary
These run without asking, because the site cannot do its job without them.
Keeping the anti-spam check working
The challenge on every form is provided by Cloudflare. It needs to store something on your device in order to tell a person from a script, and to avoid asking you again a moment later. Without it the forms are open to automated abuse.
Remembering your cookie choice
If we had to ask again on every page, the question would stop being a choice and start being an obstacle. Your answer is stored on your device only.
Keeping the site up and reachable
Basic security and load balancing by the company that serves the site. This is the layer that absorbs an attack rather than letting it reach the site.
3. Optional, and off until you say otherwise
Measurement
How people find the site, which pages are used and where a form is abandoned. Useful for fixing things, and not necessary for anything to work. Nothing in this category runs until you agree to it, and refusing it changes nothing about what you can see or do.
There is no advertising category here. We do not run advertising trackers on this site and we do not share what you do here with an advertising network.
4. The honest state of this list
This page describes categories rather than listing individual names, durations and providers. That is not an oversight. A named list is only worth printing once somebody has opened the finished site and recorded what it actually sets, and the finished site does not exist yet.
[NEEDS HUMAN SIGN-OFF] Take a real inventory from the built site before launch: every cookie and every item of browser storage, with its name, who sets it, what it is for and how long it lasts. Then replace this section with that table, and confirm that nothing in the optional category fires before consent.
5. Changing your mind
Whatever you choose, you can change it later, and saying no is as easy as saying yes. Refusing the optional category leaves every page, every job advert and every form working exactly as before.
Your browser also lets you clear or block storage for any site. If you block what the strictly necessary section describes, the forms may stop working, because the anti-spam check will no longer be able to tell that you are a person.
