HGV class 1 driver jobs in Cambridgeshire

UK Business Counts recorded 490 freight transport by road workplaces in Cambridgeshire at the March 2025 reference date, 50 of them employing ten people or more. 440 of them, 89.8%, employ under ten, which is the ordinary shape of haulage.

Of the freight transport by road employee jobs the 2024 survey splits by hours in Cambridgeshire, 600 are part time, 14.6% of the split. The middle across the East of England is 25%, so Cambridgeshire sits below it, 11th of 11 areas on this measure. That is the shape most artic drivers would expect: full-time work with part-time hours around the edges.

Next to Cambridgeshire in that order sit Essex at 4,500 and Thurrock at 4,000.

On the separate business register count of freight transport by road workplaces, Cambridgeshire ranks 7th of the 11 areas in the East of England. The middle across the East of England is 500, against 490 in Cambridgeshire. Across the 153 areas in England the middle is 200. Next to Cambridgeshire in that order sit Norfolk at 500 and Luton at 405.

None of this counts adverts. It counts 4,000 jobs and 490 workplaces that already exist in Cambridgeshire, which is a different thing from what is open to apply for today.
